The Good Retreat is run personally by Sonny Phillips and is not yet a registered sole trader business, so it is not taking payments. Supporter membership is not on sale — the list below only records interest. Here is how the service will be funded. More on the business status and banking.
Clearly labelled advertising
- Adverts only appear in fixed spaces, marked "Advertisement".
- They never appear inside a member's deed, or next to reporting and appeal tools.
- Nothing advertising-related loads unless you have accepted advertising cookies — see the cookie policy.
- Advertisers can never buy votes, leaderboard places or awards.
Supporter membership (coming soon)
An optional small monthly membership for people who want to help keep the site going. It is recognition and comfort only — never an advantage.
- A supporter badge on your profile.
- Ad-free browsing.
- Extra profile customisation.
- No extra votes, no leaderboard boost, no priority in the annual ceremony, no effect on moderation decisions.

Back the Crowdfunder
The Crowdfunder pays for marketing, annual-ceremony awards and building the official app. Pledges support the business, are not a charity donation, and are not tax-deductible.
