I'm a creator or influencer — how do collaborations work?

Send a collaboration message with your channel, audience and the idea you have in mind (a challenge, a themed week, a joint community project). There is no paid-promotion requirement and nothing sponsored is ever presented as an ordinary member deed.

Can I advertise on The Good Retreat?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Advert spaces are clearly labelled, never placed inside a member's deed, and only load for visitors who have accepted advertising cookies. Choose the collaboration topic on this page and tell us about your brand and budget.

Question 4

Are there cash prizes for winning deeds?

Accepted Answer

No. Rewards are recognition only — leaderboard places, badges and the annual ceremony for the top ten deeds. There is never a cash prize, entry fee or prize draw.

Can I donate or support The Good Retreat directly?

Accepted Answer

Yes — there is a Crowdfunder for anyone who wants to help launch marketing, annual-ceremony awards and the official app. Crowdfunder pledges go to the business, not to the charity split, and are not tax-deductible. Use the Support link in the site menu to back or share the campaign.

Where does the money go?

50% of profits go to charity, all of it to Cancer Research UK. The rest is reinvested in the app and supports its founder through university. The giving page publishes the running totals.

Why was my deed held for review?

Accepted Answer

Everything is screened before publication for safety, honesty and suitability for ages 13 and over. Held posts are looked at by a moderator, and you get a notification when a decision is made.

My post was rejected and I disagree — what can I do?

Accepted Answer

Open your notifications page and use the appeal form on the rejected post. A moderator reviews the appeal and you are told the outcome in the app.

Do I need permission to post photos or video of other people?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You must have the consent of everyone identifiable in your media, and a parent or guardian's permission for anyone under 18. Full details are in the community guidelines.

How do you check that media is genuine?

Accepted Answer

Uploads carry a fingerprint and capture details, and are screened for signs of AI generation or editing. Anything doubtful is held for a human check before it appears.

Something is broken on the site or app — where do I report it?

Email admin@thegoodretreat.app with what you were doing, the page you were on and your device or browser. Screenshots help a lot.

How do I report harmful content or an ethical concern?

Use the Report button on the content itself for the fastest response, or email the address on this page for anything sensitive, including safeguarding and ethics concerns.

How do I get my data or delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Your account settings let you download your data and delete your account permanently. Data rights requests under UK GDPR can also be sent to the contact email.
